Calling all Chicago fashion designers looking for your big break!
Now through November 16th, 2009, is your chance to apply for one of the Chicago Fashion Incubator's exclusive six (6) spots.
Apply now for a position in the 2010 Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy's on State St.
The deadline to apply is November 16, 2009
The Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) at Macy’s on State Street provides six (6) emerging Chicago-based designers with the resources, including:
workspace at Macy's on State St.
education about the business of fashion
mentoring from established Chicago designers and Macy's buyers
an opportunity to launch your career in fashion
The Designers in Residence (DIR) are provided:
office space, including computers and software
workshop room with sample production space and a resource section
showroom space to showcase their designs
DIR are required to complete a core curriculum of workshops and seminars conducted at the Incubator location at Macy’s on State Street for the duration of a one year period starting in March 2010.
Eligibility:
Reside in Chicagoland Area - which includes the following counties: Cook, Dupage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry & Will
Be 21 years of age or older
Complete full application and submit by November 16, 2009 5pm CST
Provide a minimum of three (3) samples of work from past or current collection
Either plan to start, or have already started, a fashion business in the City of Chicago
Submit application fee of $75
Commit to CFI completely, utilizing all available resources, similar to a full-time job
CFI is part of the Mayor’s Fashion Initiative, which supports and promotes fashion designers living and working in the city of Chicago through events, seminars and city programs.
